SAML and Shibboleth Introduction

Target audience

The course is targeted at technicians who want to turn their applications to SAML based federated authentication.

Learning goals

  • Understand how to connect an application to federated AAI
  • See examples provided using Shibboleth SP

Introduction

The course will first give a brief introduction to federated AAI with a focus on SAML federations. Then the set-up and configuration of a Shibboleth SP will be explained in order to protect a demo application with SAML based federated authentication.
